Getting through a difficult decision can be the hardest for me

You see, we as human beings are all connected in someway, and a decision someone else has to make can have an indirect impact on your personal journey…

We oftentimes hear stories of reaching crossroads and the difficulty of making hard decisions. It honestly makes for some good moving making drama, when you think about it. But not when it is pertaining to our life…

Think about the last time you were at a place in your life where you had to make a decision; a decision that could potentially alter your life forever. Do you remember the amount of anxiety or responsibility that rested on your shoulders, as you went back and forth between the various options? It didn’t feel like an intriguing movie scene, did it?

The blasphemy of it all, lies in the fact that we enjoy watching drama and difficult situations when they are not pertaining to us. When we go through those moments, we don’t move to the edge of our seats to see the grand finale; we oftentimes hide away to find balance and peace in a decision.

Today, I challenge you to not watch what someone else is going through as if it is an indirect problem to you. You see, we as human beings are all connected in someway, and a decision someone else has to make can have an indirect impact on your personal journey.

It’s time that we start taking more responsibility for not only ourselves, but our neighbor as well. Not every correction we receive from someone is to harm us….. honestly, most often than not; they are voicing their concerns because they care.

When you find yourself at that crossroad next time, it’s ok to invite someone else in to help you make the best decision possible.

Can you wait for your rainbow?

I know how it feels to not know what is going to happen next. Honestly, I’ve given up a few times in the past. But guess what?

I grew up loving one of the most popular tunes by New Edition. As Johnny belted out that smooth flowing “naaaaaaaayooooooh”, til this day, I’m unable to ignore the urge to join in. As a child, I’d dance around singing “sunnnnnnny days, everybody loves them….” swaying along to the beat, not completely understanding what the song was implying.

“But tell me baby, can you stand the rain?”

What is that rain they were speaking of? As a child I honestly thought they were talking about standing in the rain. As I grew older, I learned it was those difficult times that we are going to face along life’s journey; that’s what! This statement is not just relatable to romantic relationships, but our personal love story within ourselves. There are going to be many days when we are happy beyond measure, but what about the days that seem to not go our way?

Do we just give up?

Honestly, the easy answer is oftentimes a long and hard YES. We get tired. I totally understand that! Mostly, because I know how it feels to be so crushed that I am unable to keep my head up. I know how it feels to not know what is going to happen next. Honestly, I’ve given up a few times in the past. But guess what? I’ve regretted it as well.

Stay the course…

When the sky begins to get dark and the clouds overshadow the lightness of your backyard, stay the course. Take the rain and allow it to nurture and grow your roots of self, so you can be prepared for the day the sun returns with a rainbow to remind you of the strength you possess.
